Diagnosis to survivorship - and, when it comes to that, comfort at the end. QURO covers what happens between appointments.
Before the first cycle, a nurse walks the plan through at home - what the regimen does, week by week, and which symptoms mean call now. Baseline vitals and weight, and an escalation plan that ends up on the fridge.
Pre-medications, ordered injections including growth factors, take-home pump disconnects, port flushes, dressing changes and central line care. Home infusion of supportive therapies and, where the prescriber directs, biologics such as immunotherapy and monoclonal antibodies. QURO does not administer cytotoxic chemotherapy in the home.
Nausea, mouth sores, neuropathy, dehydration, crushing fatigue, pain that stopped answering to the tablets. A nurse assesses in person, gives ordered antiemetics and IV fluids, grades the toxicity, and sends the oncologist a real report instead of a voicemail.
Chemotherapy drops the neutrophil count, and a fever in a neutropenic patient can become sepsis within hours. Our nurses take the temperature, draw the CBC with differential and blood cultures, and treat a fever after chemotherapy as time-critical - never as watchful waiting.
Low blood pressure, altered mental status, respiratory distress, or fever with a low count: QURO escalates to the on-call oncology team or the emergency department, hands over the assessment and the labs already drawn, and stays until the right care arrives.
The week after treatment is when adherence quietly fails. Nurse follow-ups keep hydration, nutrition and medication on track, catch the count nadir, and confirm the patient is well enough for the next cycle.
Treatment ending is not care ending. QURO supports the long tail: surveillance labs, imaging reminders, cardiotoxicity monitoring, lymphedema care, and the mental health of a person who has just stopped being a patient.
When the goal changes from cure to comfort, care should not have to move to a facility. QURO nurses provide symptom and pain support at home alongside hospice and palliative teams.
